My name is Sophia Arnold; I am a Clinical Psychology Masters student at Eastern Illinois University; I received my Bachelor’s Degree at SIUE in Edwardsville, IL, with a major in psychology and a minor in criminal justice. I grew up in Southern Illinois in the heart of the Shawnee National Forest where I gained a love for nature. Hiking is one of my go-to stress relief methods when the weather is nice enough for it. When it comes to research, I focus on substance use prevention methods and strategies to avoid criminal behaviors. My plans for the future are to one day open my own private practice and specialize in providing treatment for court involved youth and adolescents. Working with Pivot will help me gain the skills needed to branch out on my own as well as to work in a community that is similar to the one I grew up in.
